A child born with a facial disfigurement is a traumatic experience for the whole family. The myriad of new treatments available offers hope and reassurance for those who love and care for these children. With help from the Little Baby Face Foundation, the future is a bright one.

The Little Baby Face Foundation’s four core service areas are the foundation of its efforts to treat these children and their families.

Corrective Surgery & Medical Service

The Foundation’s team of world-class surgeons and medical providers at the finest facilities in New York City, volunteer their time to provide the best corrective surgery and medical care to children born with facial deformities worldwide, regardless of a families’ ability to pay.

We treat children with: Atresia (malformed ear canals), Bite abnormalities, Buck teeth, Cleft lip and Cleft palate, Ear deformities, Facial atrophy, Facial clefts, Facial hemangiomas, Facial palsy, Facial swelling, Facial tumors, Facial vascular lesions, Facial weakness, Lantern jaw, Malformed face and jawbones (hemifacial microsomia), Microtia (missing or malformed ears), Nasal atresia, Nasal clefts, Nasal deformities, Nasal swelling, and Vascular lesions (hemangioma).

We also provide: All hearing restoration procedures, BAHA (Bone anchored hearing aid), Bone grafting, Dental implant surgery, Distraction Osteogenesis, Facial cosmetics, Microvascular Nerve repair, Orthognathic surgery, Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Surgery.

The Little Baby Face Foundation employs a comprehensive approach to patient treatment, regardless of expense or time involved. Once accepted for treatment, each child receives the medical care they require, including the following components:

  • Full medical evaluation services for each child, including physical exams, scans, x-rays, and other diagnostic testing.
  • Surgery required to correct the deformity. On average, each child requires two (2) surgeries that last approximately three (3) hours each.
  • Accommodations for the child and an adult guardian and transportation to and from New York City. The average stay is one (1) week per surgery.

Family Support

At the Little Baby Face Foundation, we understand the needs of our patients and their families for medical services provided by a compassionate and responsive group of physicians and volunteers. The Foundation’s experts offer the following Family Support, providing a comprehensive, caring level of service:

  • Education regarding corrective surgery and treatment alternatives.
  • Connection to services and support groups.
  • Information regarding applying for social service programs such as Medicaid.
  • Assistance with providing medical justification for corrective surgery.
  • Family Reference Section on the web site.

Physician Education

The Foundation is committed to educating a generation of doctors and medical practitioners who are trained to treat and care for children with facial deformities. To accomplish this, we offer the following physician education opportunities:

  • Grand Rounds for hospital and pediatric interns
  • Educational seminars on identification and current treatment protocols for correcting infant/child facial deformities.
  • Fellowships for surgical training.
  • Physician’s Reference Section on web site.
  • Consultations for reconstructive care management.

Research

The Foundation is at the forefront in its knowledge and use of the newest methods and techniques with which to offer its patients a high level of medical service. This includes:

  • Education and documentation of new surgical reconstruction techniques.
  • Utilization of new materials and products that enhance the quality of reconstruction surgery.
  • Development of treatment protocols and standards for holistic approach to reconstructive case management.

The Little Baby Face Foundation medical team members make significant contributions to the national and international fields of facial deformities research.
