second annual golf outing • august 2008

Little Baby Face Foundation hosted its First Annual Golf Outing at the Alpine Country Club in Demarest, NJ. Nearly 80 golfers participated in the Outing on a beautiful August day, and enjoyed friendly competition throughout the day in contests including a “Million Dollar Shoot-Out”, and “Hole-in-One” and $5,000 “Putting Contests.”
The Outing was spearheaded by William Louie, MD, a member of LBFF’s Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Louie serves as Director of Neuroradiology at Lenox Hill Radiology and Park West Radiology in New York City. Dr. Louie and his team reached out to their colleagues and vendors in the medical community to support the event as players and sponsors. In welcoming the players and guests during the evening reception, he said, “This is a great start of what we expect will be an annual event to raise funds for and awareness of LBFF.”
The Outing’s success was in large part due to the generosity of its sponsors: Lenox Hill Radiology (Eagle Sponsor); New York Community Bancorp (Par Sponsor); Century 21 Construction and the Marino Family (Hole-in-One Shoot-Out Sponsor); Park West Radiology (Putting Contest Sponsor), Travers O’Keefe & Associates; Petrone Associates, LLC; Unitex Textile Rental Services; Baker, Sanders, Barshay, Grossman, Fass, Muhlstock, & Neuwirth; and Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. (all Hole Sponsors).
Following a full day of golf competition, Dr. Louie, and LBFF founder and president Dr. Thomas Romo, III, hosted the golfers and guests at the Alpine Country Club’s regal clubhouse for cocktails and a sumptuous buffet dinner. Dr. Romo thanked Dr. Louie and all who worked to make the Outing a great success. Dr. Louie joined him in awarding prizes to the day’s top golfers. The evening concluded with a raffle drawing conducted by a good friend and supporter of LBFF, Federico Castelluccio, a star of the HBO series, The Sopranos.
LBFF thanks the many players, sponsors, and volunteers who all contributed to make this First Golf Outing such a success. Plans are already underway for next summer—we hope to see you then!
